Discover the secrets of one of the oldest cultures on the American continent by visiting the amazing Uros Islands, an incredible handmade floating town on Lake Titicaca.

Tour Details

If you go to Puno, it's probably to visit the famous Lake Titicaca; the world's highest navigable lake. This tour offers a way to see the lake and visit its remarkable floating islands.

The tour begins with pickup from your hotel in Puno, followed by a transfer to the port. You will board a boat to sail on the lake for approximately one hour. Notably, 60% of the lake is in Peru, while 40% is in Bolivia.

Upon arrival at the floating islands, you will observe how these man-made islands are constructed by the Uru people from layers of cut totora, a buoyant reed. The Uros harvest these reeds and continually add them to the islands' surface. You will learn about the traditional way of life of the Uru people.

After exploring the unique islands, the group will return to the port of Puno and you will be taken back to your hotel.

The tour includes pickup from hotels in central Puno. For accommodations on the outskirts, you should arrive at 6 am at Jiron Arequipa 666, corner of Arequipa and Puno.
