Boat Ride + Hiking in Cape Froward

Join us on a boat trip through the Strait of Magellan to Cape Froward, the southernmost point of the American mainland. Along the way, we'll hike to the Cross of the Seas.

Cape Froward Adventure Tour Highlights

At the designated time, we'll collect you from your hotel in Punta Arenas and travel to the Punta Arbol pier. Our adventure begins as we embark on a boat excursion through the iconic Strait of Magellan, which connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean.

As we sail, we'll enjoy views of extraordinary landscapes, including the Magellanic forests, Andean peaks, and captivating fjords. Highlights include Mount Tarn, the San Isidro lighthouse, and the bays of El Águila, El Indio, San Nicolás, and Rosas.

Continuing south, we will see Mount Sarmiento. If conditions allow, we may spot wildlife like southern dolphins and sea lions near Cape Froward. Depending on the weather, we may also visit the shore to learn about the origin of the name Cape Froward; otherwise, we'll continue our nautical journey.

Upon reaching Cape Froward, we'll undertake a one-hour hike to the Cross of the Seas, one of the southernmost crucifixes in the world. The views include part of the Alberto de Agostini National Park.

After the hike, we'll enjoy a picnic lunch, featuring sandwiches, nuts, and a choice of tea or coffee.

The return journey will take us back to Punta Arbol by boat, then back to Punta Arenas, with an anticipated hotel arrival around 12 hours after the initial pickup.
