San Lucas Island National Park Day Trip
Upon booking, you can choose between two day trips to San Lucas Island National Park. Both start from the ICT tourist dock in Puntarenas, include transfers in a speedboat, a guide, tickets, and lunch. Details for both trips are below.
San Lucas Island tour (6 hours 30 minutes)
The meeting point will begin with a quick safety briefing before departing on a speedboat through the Gulf of Nicoya and Puntarenas mangrove forest. Dolphins may be spotted during the water crossing.
Upon arrival at San Lucas Island, a journey through its nature and history includes visits to the chapel and the historic old San Lucas Island prison.
Next, we will return by speedboat to Esmerelda Beach, where you’ll have 2 hours 30 minutes of free time to relax. A traditional local lunch will be provided here.
The return to Puntarenas dock is scheduled for 3 pm.
San Lucas, Negritos and Cedros Islands tour (8 hours 30 minutes)
This option begins with sailing through the Gulf of Nicoya to view mangroves and search for dolphins. At San Lucas Island, a guided tour will explore its nature spots and the history of its chapel and old prison.
Afterwards, we will proceed on a speedboat for an albatross watching tour and then arrive at Negritos Island Biological Reserve to see various monkeys in their natural habitat.
The next stop is Cedros Island, where you’ll have 2 hours of free time to relax and enjoy lunch. Menu options include chicken, tuna, or whole fried fish with a side dish.
Return to the Puntarenas dock is scheduled for 4 pm.
