Hike with Llamas in Purmamarca

Join us for a hiking experience in Purmamarca, where we will navigate paths alongside traditional Andean llamas. The hike will commence in front of the Church of Purmamarca at 3 pm. Participants will travel with a traditional Andean llama caravan.

Throughout the hike, we will discuss the journeys of Purmamarca’s ancestors, who exchanged salt for corn between the salt flats and valleys. This exchange was crucial for the community.

The journey will take us across several low trails, with stops to learn about the local landscape and culture. Participants will encounter a variety of colorful hills and discover their significance.

As we proceed, we will explore the area’s main endemic plants, including molles, churquis, pencas, and airampos, highlighting their medicinal and nutritional benefits.

Our hike will conclude at 6 pm, returning to the meeting point to bid farewell to the llamas.
