Hike with Llamas in Purmamarca
The hike starts in front of the Church of Purmamarca at 3 pm, accompanied by a traditional Andean llama caravan. As caravaneers for the day, we will discuss the journeys of Purmamarca's ancestors who traveled between salt flats and valleys to exchange salt for corn, exploring the significance of these products.
The route will take us across several low trails alongside the llamas, with pauses to learn about the landscape and local culture. We will also observe an array of colourful hills, discovering their unique hues.
Participants will gain insights into the region's main endemic plants, including molles, churquis, pencas, and airampos, known for their medicinal and nutritional properties.
The hike concludes at 6 pm back at the meeting point, where we will bid farewell to the llamas.
