Hike with Llamas in Purmamarca
The hike will begin in front of the Church of Purmamarca at 3 pm, where participants will meet a traditional Andean llama caravan. Throughout the experience, hikers will act as caravaneers and discuss the historical journeys made by the ancestors of Purmamarca's people, including their trade of salt for corn from nearby salt flats to valleys.
The hike will cover several low trails, with stops to learn about the landscape and local culture. Participants will observe the unique colorful hills in the area and explore the reasons behind their hues.
Additionally, the tour will provide information about main endemic plants, such as molles, churquis, pencas, and airampos, highlighting their medicinal and nutritional properties.
At 6 pm, the hike will conclude back at the meeting point, where participants will bid farewell to the llamas that accompanied them during the hike.
