Join us as we hike with llamas in Purmamarca, walking along the paths surrounding this beautiful town with typical animals from the Andes. This will be an unforgettable experience.

Hike with Llamas in Purmamarca

The hike will start in front of the Church of Purmamarca at 3 pm. Participants will be accompanied by a traditional Andean llama caravan.

During this unique experience, we will act as caravaneers for the day. Discussions will focus on the journeys of the ancestors of Purmamarca's people, who traveled from the salt flats to the valleys to exchange salt for corn, highlighting the importance of both products.

We will traverse several low trails with the llamas, making stops to learn about the landscape and local culture. The route features a unique array of colourful hills, and we will explore the reasons behind their vibrant colors.

As we hike, we will also learn about the area's main endemic plants, including molles, churquis, pencas, and airampos, known for their medicinal and nutritional properties.

The hike will conclude at 6 pm, returning to the meeting point to bid farewell to the llamas.
