Salinas Grandes Tour

Description

We'll pick you up from Purmamarca between 10:15 am and 10:30 am on the morning of the excursion and set off on the road to the Salinas Grandes. These enormous salt flats are one of the largest in South America, renowned for being highly photographed.

Following the steep labyrinthine trails up the Lipán, Saladillo, and Abra de Potrerillos hills, we'll enjoy impressive panoramic views of the rugged landscapes of Purmamarca. Keep an eye out for local wildlife such as vicuñas and llamas along the route.

At Salinas Grandes, located at an average altitude of 3,450 meters above sea level, you'll see the seemingly endless white desert. The vast salt flat contrasts sharply against the blue skies. We will spend 45 minutes in Salinas Grandes, learning about its history and formation before making our way back to Purmamarca. You will have an hour of free time for lunch or to explore the town at your leisure.

We will regroup and set off back to Purmamarca, arriving around 3:30 pm.
