Yavi and Quiaca Trip

After picking you up from your hotel in Purmamarca at 9 am, we will take National Route 9 to the most northern area of Argentina.

We will travel through the landscapes of the Argentinean Puna until we reach the picturesque town of Yavi. Here, we will explore the historic center, which is home to the elegant House of the Marquis of Tojo, the water mill, and the pretty church of San Francisco de Asis. Inside this temple, we will see a spectacular gold laminated altar that is a jewel of the region's sacred art.

At the end of the tour of Yavi, we will climb to the top of the Cerro de los Ocho Hermanos (Hill of Eight Brothers) to contemplate the views of the municipality and the nearby Laguna Colorada. Don't forget to bring your camera to capture a souvenir photo of these landscapes.

We will continue the excursion at La Quiaca, a border town between Argentina and Bolivia. Both countries are connected by the International Bridge of Villazón. We will cross some sections on the Argentinean side and discuss the history of this link between the two nations.

You will have one hour free for lunch in La Quiaca (not included) - a perfect opportunity to enjoy both Argentinean and Bolivian cuisine! After lunch, we will return to your hotel in Purmamarca, arriving at 6 pm.
