Yavi and Quiaca Trip

After picking you up from your hotel in Purmamarca at 9 am, we will take National Route 9 to the most northern area of Argentina.

We will travel through the landscapes of the Argentinean Puna until we reach the picturesque town of Yavi. Here, we will explore the historic center, which is home to the elegant House of the Marquis of Tojo, the water mill, and the pretty church of San Francisco de Asis. Inside this temple, we will see a gold laminated altar that is significant in the region's sacred art.

At the end of the tour of Yavi, we will climb to the top of the Cerro de los Ocho Hermanos (Hill of Eight Brothers) to enjoy views of the municipality and the nearby Laguna Colorada. Bring your camera for souvenir photos of these landscapes!

We will continue the excursion at La Quiaca, a border town between Argentina and Bolivia. Both countries are connected by the International Bridge of Villazón, and we will cross some sections on the Argentinean side while discussing the history of this link.

You will then have one hour free for lunch in La Quiaca (not included) - an opportunity to enjoy both Argentinean and Bolivian cuisine! After lunch, we will return to your hotel in Purmamarca, arriving at 6 pm.
