With this tour from Putre, you'll travel through the mountainous region of northern Chile for 5 days, focusing on the Parinacota and Taapacá volcanoes.

5-day Parinacota and Taapacá Trip

Day 1

On day 1, we will pick you up at your hotel in Putre and head to the viewpoint of the Taapacá volcano. Following this, we will travel to the village of Colpita and the colorful mountains of Suriplaza, where you can choose to trek or admire them from the base. The day concludes with accommodation in a rural lodging in Parinacota.

Day 2

After breakfast, we will trek through the Cotacotani Lagoons and Chungará Lake in Lauca National Park. We will stop at the Chiriguaya hot springs and then visit a rural house in Chimvatambo to learn about the "charqui" process before dinner and rest.

Day 3

On day 3, we will visit the vicuña reserve and follow the route to Chinchillani hill, the Salar Salt Flats, and Chilcaya plain. We will relax at Polloquere hot springs before visiting the villages of Isluga and Cariquima, where we will have dinner and lodge for the night.

Day 4

The fourth day begins at the Coipasa Salt Flats, known for its large cacti, before returning to Cariquima to visit its church and the Community Museum. We will continue to Tarapacá to see the San Lorenzo sanctuary and the Atacama Giant. Lunch will be in Huara, and we will conclude the day with accommodation in a rural lodge in Nama.

Day 5

On the last day, we will tour the Red Lagoon and the Rainbow waterfall before returning for lunch in Nama and Camiña and then head back to your hotel in Putre.

Accommodation and meals

All stays are in shared rooms in rural houses with dinner and breakfast included. Lunches will consist of picnic options during tours. The tour includes 4 nights of accommodation in Parinacota, Chivatambo, Cariquima, and Nama.
