Immerse yourself in the stunning landscapes of the Chilean Altiplano with our day excursion to Chapiquiña. This journey also includes a visit to the renowned Juntuma Hot Springs, nestled in the majestic Andean foothills.

Day Trip to Chapiquiña & Juntuma Hot Springs

Your adventure commences with a pick-up from your hotel in Putre between 7:00 and 8:00 am, followed by a scenic drive toward Chapiquiña and Juntuma in the vibrant center of the Chilean Altiplano.

We will first pay a visit to the quaint village of Socoroma, where you'll find the charming Church of San Francisco de Asis. Subsequently, we will travel to Zapahuira, where ancient Inca archaeological remains await us, providing insights into their rich history.

The journey continues to the village of Belén, known for its significant religious structures, notably the Churches of Our Lady of Carmen and Our Lady of Belén. Here, we'll take a break to enjoy a delightful picnic lunch featuring sandwiches, dried fruits, chocolates, and refreshing juice.

Post-lunch, we will traverse the surrounding natural beauty of Chapiquiña, where you might have the chance to encounter local Andean wildlife including llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas. Eventually, we will arrive at the notable Juntuma Hot Springs, situated at a remarkable altitude of 12,467 feet (3,800 meters) above sea level.

Accessing these hot springs involves navigating a challenging ravine, so we will drive as close as possible before proceeding on foot. After basking in the breathtaking views, we will return to your hotel in Putre, concluding our exciting day between 4:00 and 5:00 pm.
