General Lagos Villages Excursion
Your experience begins with an early morning pick-up at 6 am from your hotel in Putre, as we set off towards the northern edge of General Lagos, situated in the far north of Chile.
Upon crossing customs, our first stop will be the Tripartite Landmark, the geographical point where Chile, Bolivia, and Peru meet. Here, you can explore a lively fair that takes place every Sunday, showcasing a variety of products from all three nations in South America.
Stroll through the vibrant stalls of local vendors and gain insight into the diverse goods traded in the Andean Altiplano. Afterward, we will pass through customs once more to re-enter Chilean territory and continue our exploration of General Lagos.
The next destination will be the town of Visviri, where we will delve into the rich railway history associated with the route that connected Arica and La Paz. Our tour will then take us to the village of Cosapilla, notable for its distinctive church, where we will pause for a delightful picnic lunch featuring sandwiches, dried fruits, chocolates, and refreshing juices.
As we conclude our excursion, we will head to Caquena with hopes of spotting the native llamas, alpacas, vicuñas, and other Andean wildlife that grace the area. Finally, we will return you to your hotel in Putre, with drop-off scheduled between 12 pm and 2 pm.
