Surire Salt Flat Day Trip

At 7 am, we'll depart from your hotel in Putre and travel to the Las Vicuñas National Reserve. This area, located near the Bolivian border, features the stunning Surire Salt Flat Natural Monument.

During our visit to the salt flat, situated at an altitude of 13,927 feet (4,245 metres), we will observe one of the primary nesting sites for flamingos in South America. The region also hosts animals such as rheas, vicuñas, alpacas, llamas, and guallatas.

As we explore, we will traverse various landscapes including rivers, lagoons, volcanoes, and high-altitude wetlands. We will also visit inhabited areas like the village of Guallatire and its notable church.

For those feeling hungry, we will take a break for a picnic lunch that includes sandwiches, dried fruits, chocolates, and natural juices. After our meal, we will proceed to the Polloquere Hot Springs.

We will return to Putre, dropping you off at your hotel between 5 and 7 pm.
