Surunche Hill Hike
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Putre and set off for the Pampa de Luscuma.
Upon arrival at this plain in the Andean foothills of northern Chile, we'll begin a hike to the summit of Surunche Hill. The hike has medium-high difficulty, lasting between 5 and 6 hours, reaching an altitude of 12,762 feet (3,890 metres).
Traditional Andean ceremonies are conducted on Surunche Hill. We'll learn about the main rituals during our ascent. At the summit, a crucifix from colonial times marks the site of the May Cross festivities.
While enjoying the views, we will take a break for a picnic that includes sandwiches, dried fruits, chocolates, and natural juices. After resting, we will begin our descent down an easier slope.
We will return to the starting point of our hike and then take you back to your hotel in Putre, arriving 6 to 7 hours later.
