Can Gio Day Trip

Embark on an enriching day tour to Can Gio, a UNESCO-designated Biosphere Reserve, where we will delve into the wonders of a crocodile farm, visit the lively Monkey Island, and trek towards the historic Rung Sac military base.

Itinerary

Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your hotel located in District 1 or a pre-arranged meeting point at the planned time. We will then depart Ho Chi Minh City and commence our drive along the scenic Huynh Tan Phat road.

As we reach the Binh Khanh district, a ferry will take us over to Can Gio, an area recognized as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.

Our first destination in Can Gio will be Monkey Island, home to over a thousand mischievous monkeys. Following this, we will visit the Hoa Ca crocodile farm, providing an opportunity to see these intriguing reptiles in their natural habitat.

Next, prepare for a 30-minute hike through dense forest, leading us to the Rung Sac military base. Here, you can explore a bunker, view old explosives and mines, and navigate through a tunnel complex that winds through the mangroves. For those who prefer another experience, there is an option to reach Rung Sac via canoe.

At approximately noon, we'll take a break for lunch at a local restaurant, where you can enjoy the authentic flavors of southern Vietnamese cuisine. After our meal, our journey continues as we visit a bustling fish and seafood market in Can Gio.

To conclude our day, we will return to Ho Chi Minh City, arriving back at the original pick-up point roughly 10 hours after we began our adventure.
