Enjoy riding across the breathtaking rural landscapes of northern Vietnam on a motorbike, an off-roading vehicle, or a jeep on this 4-day tour of Hà Giang. You'll see the beautiful views from Heaven's Gate, admire the spectacular Mã Pí Lèng Pass, and follow the iconic Hà Giang Loop!

Hà Giang 4-Day Tour Package

Day 1: Hanoi - Hà Giang

We'll take a bus from downtown Hanoi and head to the city of Hà Giang. During this 6.5-hour journey, we'll make a stop for you to stretch your legs, have dinner, or grab a snack. We'll arrive in Hà Giang and check in at the hotel for the night.

Day 2: Hà Giang - Qu?n B? - Yên Minh - Pho Bang - Mã Pí Lèng

On day 2, we'll enjoy a buffet-style breakfast before beginning our tour in the hotel lobby, where the guide and drivers will be waiting. We'll listen to a short introduction to the region's history of migration and opium cultivation, which have shaped the area's identity, lifestyle, and architecture. Afterward, it'll be time to set off to the Qu?n B? district.

As we leave the plains behind and head into the mountains of the Qu?n B? district, you'll already see a change in the scenery. You'll see Heaven's Gate, a mountain viewpoint 4921 ft (1500 m) above sea level. This large wooden gate was built by the French nearly a century ago to control access. From this place, you'll enjoy extraordinary scenic views of the peaks and valleys that make up the beautiful natural landscape, such as the famous twin mountains of Qu?n B?.

Next, we'll visit a cooperative of Hmong women where hemp is still cultivated and used to create handmade clothing. You'll see how their carvings reflect stories of resistance and heritage. Did you know this plant is considered a bridge between the living and the dead?

Then, we'll have lunch in the village of Yên Minh. In the afternoon, we'll cross the Tham Ma Pass, one of the region's most iconic, once used to test the strength of horses. Today, it's a winding road with some scenic cafés at the top. Afterward, we'll stroll around the bordering towns of Pho Cao and Pho Bang, known for their homes with yin-yang tile roofs. Many houses preserve elements related to feng shui, such as poppy designs, Bagua mirrors, and Fu lion statues.

We'll end the day at a charming traditional house in Pho Bang, where we'll enjoy dinner made with local ingredients and rest for the next day.

Day 3: ??ng V?n - Mã Pí Lèng - Du Già

After breakfast, if the day coincides with a market day in the villages, we'll leave earlier to make the most of this special cultural experience, where various ethnic communities gather to trade, sell, and reconnect.

We'll then visit a small family-run silver workshop that has been operating for over five generations. Then, we'll head to the Hmong King Palace, the most iconic 20th-century building in the region. It's filled with references to the opium trade, Chinese influence, and feng shui principles. As you wander through its halls, you'll learn about one of the area's most powerful families and their influence.

Our tour will lead us to cross the Mã Pí Lèng Pass, the most spectacular in Vietnam. From the top, you'll marvel at the turquoise waters among the steep mountain walls of the Nho Qu? River. We'll then stop at Mèo V?c, where we'll have lunch, before following a scenic route toward the small village of Du Già, passing the Lung Ho Valley, the winding M-shaped road which is part of the Hà Giang Loop, and the ruins of an old French military post.

We'll descend into a lush valley surrounded by rice fields and nature, where we'll enjoy dinner and stay at an eco-lodge with gardens for the night.

Day 4: Du Già Waterfall - Duong Thuong Valley - River Canyon - Hà Giang

On our last day, we'll visit the Du Già Waterfall after breakfast, a peaceful spot surrounded by green landscapes. If the weather allows, you'll have the chance to take a refreshing dip before continuing our journey.

We'll travel through the fertile Duong Thuong Valley, where hundreds of families tend small plots growing rice, hemp, and vegetables. It's one of the region's most productive agricultural areas!

As we leave the valley, we'll climb the Sa Li Pass and follow the iconic Hà Giang Loop, a road that winds along a river canyon with dramatic cliffs. We'll then arrive in the city of Hà Giang, where we'll enjoy lunch. Our Hà Giang 4-day tour will come to an end after lunch. Depending on your travel plans, we'll arrange your transfer to the bus station for your next destination. See you next time!
