Impressive caters, an ancient volcano, lakes, cliffs, waterfalls, and dunes... Discover the natural treasure of Mauritius on this private trip around the south of the Island!
Description
We'll collect you from your hotel before visiting Trou-aux-Cerfs, the largest crater in Mauritius and evidence of the island’s volcanic past. From its summit, at more than 600 meters high, it offers views over Mauritius. On clear days, Reunion Island is visible on the horizon.
We continue to Mare aux Vacoas, the largest lake on the island. We'll trek along the jungle-surrounded banks to take in the immensity of this crater lake. The next stop will be Grand Bassin, the most sacred Hindu place on the island, where followers walk barefoot each year to honor the god Shiva.
You'll have free time to have lunch before visiting a tea plantation. Then we head to the Black River Gorges National Park, the largest in the country, featuring lakes, cliffs, and waterfalls, where you'll experience the tropical jungle and discover the native flora and fauna.
We'll make our way toward the Valley of 23 Colors, famous for the Seven Coloured Earths, where sand of seven different colors creates surreal patterns.
Finally, after 8 hours of exploring, we'll head back to your hotel.
