Impressive caters, an ancient volcano, lakes, cliffs, waterfalls, and dunes... Discover the natural treasure of Mauritius on this private trip around the south of the Island!
Description
We'll collect you from your hotel before visiting Trou-aux-Cerfs, the largest crater in Mauritius and evidence of the island’s volcanic past. It is a dormant volcano, and from its summit, over 600 meters high, it offers views over Mauritius. On clear days, you can spot Reunion Island on the horizon.
Next, we will visit Mare aux Vacoas, the largest lake on the island. We will trek along the jungle-surrounded banks. The journey continues to Grand Bassin, the most sacred Hindu place on the island, where followers walk barefoot to honor the god Shiva.
You will have some free time for lunch before we visit a tea plantation. Then we head to the Black River Gorges National Park, the largest in the country, featuring a landscape of lakes, cliffs, and waterfalls. You'll experience the tropical jungle and discover the variety of flora and fauna native to Mauritius.
We will make our way to the Valley of 23 Colors, known for the otherworldly landscape of the Seven Coloured Earths. These natural dunes are formed with sand of seven different colors creating surreal patterns.
After 8 hours of exploring, we'll return to your hotel.
