Impressive caters, an ancient volcano, lakes, cliffs, waterfalls, and dunes... Discover the natural treasure of Mauritius on this private trip around the south of the Island!
Description
We'll collect you from your hotel before visiting Trou-aux-Cerfs, the largest crater in Mauritius and evidence of the island’s volcanic past. It's a dormant volcano, and from its summit, at over 600 meters high, you can see Mauritius and, on clear days, Reunion Island on the horizon.
Next, we proceed to Mare aux Vacoas, the largest lake on the island. A trek along the jungle banks will allow you to appreciate the immensity of this crater lake. Our next stop is Grand Bassin, the most sacred Hindu site on the island, where followers walk barefoot annually to honor the god Shiva.
You'll have time for lunch before we visit a tea plantation. After that, we proceed to the Black River Gorges National Park, the largest in the country, showcasing a stunning landscape of lakes, cliffs, and waterfalls. This protected area is home to a variety of native flora and fauna.
Our journey continues to the Valley of 23 Colors, famous for the Seven Coloured Earths. These natural dunes consist of sand in seven different colors, creating surreal patterns.
Finally, after 8 hours of exploring, we'll return to your hotel.
