Quero Forest Hiking Tour

Hiking itineraries are available in the Quero forest, starting and ending at Quero Park. Each includes an English-speaking guide, snacks, lunch, and access to Hacienda Hipolongo Cruz de Mayo's facilities. You can choose from the following hikes:

Quero Forest + Trout Hatchery (8 hours)

Meet at 9 am for a hiking adventure in the pine forests of the Igualata moor. We will start the hike by taking a tractor to the trailhead, observing unique plants and wildlife en route. A sandwich will provide a break during the hike.

The trail follows the old Toro Singuna road to a trout farm, where you'll learn about trout care and have the opportunity to fish. A traditional lunch will conclude the outing before we stroll around the hacienda and return to Quero.

Quero Forest + Cimarrón Waterfall (8 hours)

Your adventure begins at the farm, leading to the Cimarrón waterfall while learning about the Chagras' lifestyle. Capture views of the Tungurahua, Chimborazo, and Carihuairazo volcanoes.

Observing páramo wildlife, including wolves, rabbits, eagles, and water swallows, occurs as we enter the Quero forest. After visiting the waterfall, we'll take a snack break at Toro Singuna and enjoy a traditional-style lunch at the hacienda before returning to Quero.

2-day tour in the Quero Forest

The 2-day excursion allows for deeper immersion in the Igualata moor. After arriving and settling into your room, we'll hike to the Cimarrón waterfall and enjoy a snack break.

Lunch featuring local delicacies will be served by 1 pm, followed by relaxation time. Dinner and a campfire gathering will conclude the day. On the second day, enjoy breakfast and an hour and a half of free time at the hacienda, concluding by 10 am at the Quero meeting point.
