Quero Forest Hiking Tour

We have several hiking itineraries available in the Quero forest, all starting and ending in Quero Park. These include an English-speaking guide, snacks, lunch, and access to Hacienda Hipolongo Cruz de Mayo's facilities. You can choose from the following hikes:

Quero Forest + Trout Hatchery (8 hours)

The adventure begins at 9 am with a hike into the pine forests of the Igualata moor. We'll ride a tractor to the hike's starting point, observing local wildlife along the way. A sandwich break will provide a boost, before heading along the old Toro Singuna road to a trout farm, where you'll learn about trout care and may try fishing. The hike concludes with a traditional lunch at the hacienda before returning to Quero.

Quero Forest + Cimarrón Waterfall (8 hours)

This hike allows you to experience life as an Ecuadorian chagra while visiting the Cimarrón waterfall. Capture views of the Tugurahua, Chimborazo, and Carihuairazo volcanoes. After entering the Quero forest, you'll see páramo wildlife such as wolves, rabbits, and eagles. A snack break is planned at Toro Singuna, followed by a traditional lunch at the hacienda before returning to Quero.

2-day tour in the Quero Forest

This excursion offers an extended exploration of the Igualata moor. After check-in, we'll hike to Cimarrón waterfall and enjoy a snack break. By 1 pm, lunch featuring local delicacies will be served. Free time follows, and the day concludes with a dinner and a campfire gathering. On the second day, a hearty breakfast is provided, with an hour and a half of leisure at the hacienda. We will depart from the Quero meeting point by 10 am.
