On this bamboo raft ride in Quimbaya, we'll navigate down the La Vieja river and explore the region of western Colombia.
Quimbaya Bamboo Raft Ride
At 9 am, we'll meet at Bolivar Square, where an all-terrain vehicle will take us to the river port of Quimbaya.
We will board a typical bamboo raft, used by the pre-Columbian Indians, and travel for 4 hours through Quimbaya.
We'll observe the nature, flora, and fauna along the riverbanks. Halfway through, we'll disembark to visit a local farm for a typical lunch, featuring sudado montañero, a chicken and potato stew with tomato, onion, and yucca.
After lunch, we'll continue downstream while sharing stories about the area. We will return to the dock where the jeep will pick us up, arriving back between 1 and 2 pm.
