Ride the rapids of the La Vieja river and paddle through the Eje Cafetero on this rafting activity in Quimbaya. You can choose between a raft, a kayak, or a tube!
Rafting in Quimbaya
At 9 am, we'll meet at the central Bolivar Square in Quimbaya, where a jeep will transport us to the La Vieja river, the natural border between Quindío and the Cauca Valley. Upon arrival, we will put on life jackets and select a watercraft for navigating the rapids. Options include rafting with a group, or solo with a kayak or tube.
We'll paddle along the river that crosses the Eje Cafetero, enjoying the lush vegetation. At around 12 noon, we will stop at a local farm on the riverbank for a typical lunch featuring sudado montañero: a chicken and potato stew with onion, tomato, yucca, and plantain, served with boiled egg, rice, and fresh-squeezed lemonade.
After lunch, we will continue paddling down the rapids until we reach the pier, where we will disembark and take the jeep back to the starting point.
Duration
The total duration of the activity will be 2-5 hours, depending on the river currents of the day.
