Avenue of the Volcanoes 2 Day Tour

More than 70 volcanoes line both sides of the Equator, forming the mythical Avenue of the Volcanoes. On this 2-day tour from Quito, we'll travel through this area of the Ecuadorian highlands and visit Quilotoa Volcano.

Avenue of the Volcanoes 2-Day Tour

Day 1

We'll leave Quito early and set off into the Ecuadorian highlands, crossing the country's biggest volcanic area. The Avenida de los Volcanes, named by Alexander Von Humboldt in 1802, is a 186-mile (300 km) corridor along the equator with over 70 volcanoes.

Our first stop will be Lasso for breakfast. Then, we'll head to Tigua to visit an indigenous house and learn about its traditions.

Next, we'll see the Toachi River Canyon before arriving at Quilotoa. We'll hike to the lake inside the crater, known for its beautiful highland scenery. After exploring the Quilotoa lagoon, we'll continue to our hotel in Baños for the night.

Day 2

After breakfast at the hotel, we will visit Mega Park Río Blanco, where you'll have free time for extreme sports, such as zip lining or crossing the glass bridge.

We will then hike to the Agoyan Pailón del Diablo and Manto de la Novia waterfalls, visit a tree house, and swim at Greenland for stunning views.

Finally, we will return to Quito, concluding the tour at the pickup hotels around 4 or 5 pm.

Accommodation

This tour includes one night's accommodation with breakfast at the Gala Hotel or similar. The price per person is based on double occupancy in a room with a private bathroom. Individual travelers booking a single room will incur an additional charge.
