Fuya Fuya Hill Hike

Discover three beautiful volcanic lakes surrounded by a vast moorland on our Fuya Fuya Hill Hike. We'll set off from Quito and spend the day in a breathtaking natural area.

Fuya Fuya Hill Hike

We'll meet at 7:30 am in front of the Tribuna de los Shyris in Quito and proceed to the Mojanda Lagoons. A stop in Cayambe will be made for breakfast before starting the hike.

The 3-hour route will lead us through volcanic scenery to three stratovolcanic lakes: Karikucha, Yanakucha, and Warmikucha. Friendly alpacas may be spotted around the lakes.

We'll traverse moorlands of meadows and mountain scrubland to reach Fuya Fuya Hill, which stands at an elevation of 13,779 feet (4,200 meters) above sea level. From the summit, there are panoramic views of Imbabura, Cayambe, llinizas, Cotopaxi, and Cotacachi Volcanoes.

While enjoying the views, a sandwich and drink will be provided for energy. Afterward, we will descend to the base of the hill and travel to the poncho fair in Otavalo to explore the arts and crafts.

Following the Otavalo visit, we'll return to the meeting point in Quito and drop you off at 5 pm.
