Imbabura Villages Tour

Join us on a tour around the villages in Imbabura province. We will leave Quito and explore valleys, volcanoes, and lakes.

Tour Details

At the indicated time, we will pick you up from your hotel in Quito to begin our tour of the villages in Imbabura.

After boarding our minibus, we will drive for 1.5 hours to our first stop in Cayambe, where we will visit a bizococho (biscuit) factory. You can enjoy a breakfast there.

Next, we will proceed to the city of Otavalo, stopping briefly at Lake San Pablo for photos. In Otavalo, we will stroll through the Plaza de Ponchos, one of Ecuador’s oldest markets, learning about local life.

We will then take a boat trip on the Cuicocha Lagoon, where we will hear legends about its formation from a phreatic eruption 3,100 years ago.

After our lake exploration, you will have free time for lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we will visit Cotacachi, famous for its leather products, and explore several shops selling handicrafts.

Before heading back to Quito, we will stop at a shop to buy chocolates made from the best cocoa in the country.

After a day of exploring Imbabura, we will return to Quito, arriving 12 hours later.
