Pasochoa Volcano Hike

Our day begins at the Tribuna de los Shyris in Quito at 7:30 am, from where we'll venture towards the Pasochoa Volcano. Upon reaching the northern slope of the volcano, we will alight from the minibus and commence our trek.

The ascent to the summit of this dormant volcano will take approximately 4 hours. Along the route, the trail will be adorned with alders, pumamaquis, and palms, alongside various ferns, bromeliads, orchids, and heliconias.

Upon our arrival at the crater, situated at an impressive altitude of 13,776 feet (4,199 metres), we’ll witness the lush Andean forest thriving in what was once the heart of the volcano. The panoramic vistas from the peak offer breathtaking views of the Antisana and Cotopaxi Volcanoes.

Be on the lookout, as you may spot some Andean condors soaring above. While enjoying this serene environment, we will take a moment to savor a picnic with a sandwich and refreshment.

After our break, we will make our way back down to the base before returning to Quito, with an expected arrival time at the starting point of around 5:30 pm.
