Join us on an adventure to a vast wildlife sanctuary that spans 500 hectares and discover Ecuadorian flora and fauna up close on our Pasochoa Volcano Hike. Let's go!
Pasochoa Volcano Hike
Having met up at the Tribuna de los Shyris in Quito at 7:30 am, we'll head towards the Pasochoa Volcano. When we get to the north face of the mountain, we'll hop off the minibus and set off on our hike.
It'll take us around 4 hours to reach the top of this extinct volcano. On the way there, we'll cross paths lined with alders, pumamaquis and palms. We'll also see ferns, bromeliads, orchids and heliconias.
Once we're in the crater, which is located at an altitude of 13,776 feet (4,199 metres), we'll see how the Andean forest has sprung up around what was once the eye of the volcano. From the top, we'll gaze out at the Antisana and Cotopaxi Volcanoes.
Keep your eyes peeled, as you might even see some Andean condors flying overhead. While we're in this idyllic spot, we'll have a picnic of a sandwich and a drink.
We'll then head back to the base and return to Quito. Our arrival back at the meeting point is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
