With this street food tour of Quito, we'll discover the most delicious flavours of the capital of Ecuador as we walk through its streets.
Description
At the designated time, we'll meet at the Plaza Grande to start the tour.
We'll first go to the Archbishop's Palace, where we'll try some of Quito's traditional sweets, such as mistelas. Discover the history behind these treats during the tour.
Next, we'll visit the San Francisco Market, where we'll taste various juices and smoothies made from exotic fruits, and one of Ecuador's typical dishes, mote con chicharrón.
Afterwards, we'll explore several 'huecas' to sample traditional snacks such as humitas, tamales, and quimbolitos. We'll enjoy these corn-based dishes with coffee or a cup of morocho, a traditional Ecuadorian drink. We will also taste more elaborate dishes like the national dish, encebollado, a fish soup, and ceviche.
Our next stop will be at Ronda, where we'll enjoy paila ice cream and learn about Equatorian coffee, renowned for its quality.
Finally, we’ll visit the best chocolate in the country, ending the tour after 3.5 hours at the Yumbos Chocolate shop.
