Ruco Pichincha Volcano Hike + Cable Car
We'll meet at 8:30 am at the Tribuna de los Shyris in Quito and head for the cable car. The ride will take us to the Cruz Loma station, at an altitude of almost 12,950 feet (3,947 metres).
Once at the top, we'll embark on a 2-hour 30-minute hiking route to the summit of the Ruco Pichincha Volcano. The hike will take us through meadows and pastures where we may see local wildlife.
If you're feeling adventurous, you can try a swing that towers at over 13,123 feet (4,000 metres), offering stunning views of Quito.
Before reaching the summit, we'll visit the La Dolorosa Chapel, known for its unique marble and stone mosaic. This chapel is among the highest in the world.
At the volcano's eye, we will observe its two craters formed by powerful explosions and enjoy a snack that includes a sandwich and a drink.
Afterwards, we'll return to the cable car for our descent back to Quito, arriving at the starting point by 4:30 pm.
