This ticket grants access to a museum focused on Iceland's volcanoes and geological activity. Situated in Hvolsvöllur, it is among the leading exhibition centres in the country.
The centre features over 8 interactive spaces that provide an immersive experience related to various types of volcanoes in Iceland. The first room showcases an exhibition on 100 years of eruptions in Iceland, complete with lights and sound effects.
The second room contains the "time wheel", illustrating the history of the country's seismic activity. The third room features an eruption simulator depicting the last significant earthquake in Iceland.
In the fourth room, you will hear the real sounds of the Eyjafjallajökull eruption. The fifth room presents a geothermic corridor with geysers on the floor.
Progressing to the lava room, you will see different types of eruptions and lava flows. The seventh room illustrates the last eruption in Iceland, the Fagradalseldar, on the Reykjanes peninsula.
Finally, the last room simulates the Eyjafjallajökull eruption of 2010 with a cloud of ash. After touring the eight rooms, you can access the cinema, the observation platform, and the gift shop.
