On this day trip from Bangkok, we'll visit Damnoen Saduak, Thailand's most famous floating market, and see the iconic bridge on the River Kwai. You can choose to complete the journey with a ride on the Death Railway or a visit to an elephant sanctuary.
Day Trip Options
When booking, you'll have the choice of one of the following options. Both are 8 hours long and include pickup at the designated time from Hotel Century Park, transport, an English-speaking guide, and lunch.
Floating Market, River Kwai + Death Railway
We'll travel west of Bangkok for 1.5 hours to reach the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. We'll go on a 30-minute boat ride through the market, seeing stalls selling vegetables, exotic fruit spices, and local products.
Next, we'll continue to Kanchanaburi to see the bridge on the River Kwai, which gained fame from the 1957 film based on World War II events. We'll have a traditional Thai lunch nearby and then visit the JEATH War Museum to learn about the Death Railway's construction from 1942 to 1943.
After the museum, we'll travel to ThamKra Sae Station for a 1.5-hour train journey along the River Kwai, concluding at Tha Kilen Station, where transport will take us back to Bangkok.
Floating Market, River Kwai + Elephant Sanctuary
This option includes the same guided tour of the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. After lunch near the bridge on the River Kwai, we'll head to an elephant sanctuary, where you'll be able to bathe the elephants and enjoy a 30-minute bamboo raft ride.
After the ride, we will return to the meeting point in Bangkok.
