Description
We'll meet at the designated time in front of Rheims train station. From here, we'll take a minibus to Épernay, one of the most outstanding champagne-producing villages in France.
In Épernay, we'll wander along the Avenue de Champagne, featuring important cellars from brands like Moët & Chandon, Pol Roger, Perrier Jouët, and Boizel. We'll also see the Dom Pérignon statue, honoring the monk who developed a method for making champagne in the 17th century.
The tour continues to the vineyards on the outskirts of Épernay, where we'll discuss the 'champagne terroirs'. Next, we'll visit Hautvillers to see the church where Dom Pérignon is buried.
Our next stop will be in Mareuil-sur-Ay, where we will visit Le Clos Corbier to taste French champagne. The tasting will include a traditional lunch with three local dishes.
After lunch, we'll visit a family winery to sample handcrafted champagnes. Finally, we will return to Reims train station, concluding the tour after a total of 6 hours and 45 minutes.
