Explore the roots of a renowned French delight as you embark on an Electric Bike Champagne Tour through the picturesque towns of Hautvillers and Mareuil-sur-Ay, located just a short distance from Reims.
Tour Overview
Our adventure begins at the specified time in front of the Reims train station. From this point, we'll hop on a minibus to Avenue du Champagne in Epernay.
Upon arrival, we’ll head towards a charming country estate known as Le Clos Corbier, where our reliable electric bikes will be ready for us. Are you set to pedal?
We’ll then embark on an electric bike journey through the verdant vineyards in the vicinity. Along the way, you’ll uncover the unique characteristics of the champagne terroirs. Our path leads us to the neighboring village of Hautvillers, where we will visit the church that houses the burial site of Dom Pérignon. This remarkable 17th-century monk is often credited with developing the champagne-making method.
The cycling experience will culminate back at Le Clos Corbier, where we’ll enjoy a visit to a family-owned winery, accompanied by a tasting session of various champagne varieties! Following this, a delightful traditional French lunch awaits, featuring a selection of local products from the Reims area, including bread, cheeses, pates, quiches, and rose cookies.
After our meal, we’ll make our way back to the Reims train station, marking the end of this enriching 7-hour journey.
