On this day trip to the Itaúba reservoir, we will explore the landscape around the hydroelectric power plant on a boat ride.
Description
At the scheduled time, we will meet at the Termas Romanas Recanto Maestro. Here, we will board our vehicle for an 80 km (50 mile) journey to the dock at the Itaúba reservoir, significant to the development of Rio Grande do Sul.
Upon arrival at the port near the hydroelectric power plant, we will board a boat for a 10 km (6.2 miles) ride to the Alagüe cliffs, recognized as one of the most beautiful sites in the eastern state.
During the boat ride, we will navigate the emerald waters of the reservoir, admire the Estrela and Benzedura waterfalls, and view the Butucatu geological formation, which dates back to the desertification of the ancient continent of Gondwana.
We will appreciate the unique landscape and the local flora and fauna. Additionally, we will share some legends from the area, including one about a farmer who compensated his workers by pushing them into the water.
Finally, we will return to the dock, board our vehicle, and head back to Restinga Sêca, concluding the experience approximately 5.5 hours after the activity begins.
