Arkadi Monastery, Margarites & Melidoni Cave Tour

After picking you up from your hotel in Rethymno between 7 am and 8 am, we'll drive to the Arkadi Monastery. You will have an hour of free time to explore the monastery and its museum, focusing on its history and exhibits, including Ottoman relics and icons. Discover the events of 1866 and the influence of Venetian rule.

Next, we will visit Margarites, a village known for traditional pottery. An expert craftsman will demonstrate the creation of local products. There will be half an hour of free time to have lunch in a local restaurant.

The tour includes a visit to a small oil factory, where you will learn about the evolution of olive oil production and the characteristics that make Crete's oil renowned.

Lastly, we will explore Melidoni Cave, situated over 220 meters high. You will observe the stalactites and stalagmites, as well as learn about its historical use for religious ceremonies and as a shelter during conflict.

The tour concludes with a return to your hotel in Rethymno between 5 pm and 6 pm.
