Learn to prepare traditional dishes in Rethymno with this Cretan Cooking Class where you will make tzatziki, ntako, and gemistas, accompanied by recipes including raki, the island's typical liquor.
Cretan Cooking Class
Pickup is at your hotel in Rethymno at 10 am, then we will travel to the small town of Nippos.
After a short walk in the village to learn about the history and peculiarities of Cretan cuisine, we will begin to prepare the dishes in a traditional tavern, guided by an experienced chef.
You will learn the basic guidelines for making island's fundamental dishes. You will don an apron, get acquainted with organic products, and start cooking.
Dishes such as ntako, crumbled tomatoes on homemade bread, the traditional tzatziki, and gemistas (vegetables stuffed with rice and herbs) will be included in this cooking class.
Once finished, you will enjoy a main dish and dessert prepared by the cook, along with the traditional raki.
We will then return to the minibus for the journey back to Rethymno, arriving at 3 pm.
