Embark on a journey from Rethymno and experience some of the most captivating natural wonders of central Crete. The scenic grotto of Patsos, Plakias beach, and the picturesque village of Spili are all on our itinerary.

Excursion to Spili, Patsos & Plakias Beach

Your day will begin at 8:30 am when we will pick you up departing from your accommodation in Rethymno to set off towards the south, exploring breathtaking spots such as Spili, the Patsos grotto, and the inviting Plakias beach. Let’s begin our adventure!

Boarding a comfortable minibus, we will navigate through Crete’s lush landscapes until we reach the Patsos grotto. This stunning gorge boasts over 80 types of vegetation and 24 diverse species of wildlife, many of which enjoy protected status. Additionally, we’ll visit a charming small church set within the rocks in Patsos.

Continuing southward, our next stop will be a viewpoint offering panoramic views of the enchanting surroundings of Rethymno. We will then arrive at the Botanical Garden, where you can spend 40 minutes discovering the native flora and fauna of Crete.

We will also explore Spili, a delightful mountain village famous for its crystal springs, cobblestone pathways, and historic homes. Here, we’ll visit the Folklore Museum to gain deeper insight into the region’s rich cultural heritage.

As we make our way through the Kourtaliotis canyon, we’ll finally arrive at Plakias beach, where you will have the opportunity to enjoy some free time for lunch and a refreshing swim in its pristine waters—an ideal way to conclude our tour!

We aim to return to your hotel in Rethymno around 5:30 pm.
