Deildartunguhver & Vidgelmir Cave Tour

On this excursion to Deildartunguhver Spring and Vidgelmir Cave, we'll discover the largest lava grotto in Iceland and the fastest-flowing hot springs in Europe!

Description

We will gather at the designated meeting point in Reykjavik and set out to Deildartunguhver Spring. The tour leads us to the Borgarfjörður region, approximately a 2-hour drive to Deildartunguhver Spring, known for its high flow rate among European hot springs. A stop will be made at the lava waterfalls, Hraunfossar and Barnafossar.

After visiting the waterfalls, we'll break in Húsafell for lunch on your own before continuing to Vidgelmir Cave, one of the largest lava caves globally. The exploration will include its intricate lava formations and details about its evolution.

After our cave exploration, we’ll return to Húsafell for free time to explore the area or relax in a geothermal pool. Following this, we will head back to Reykjavik, concluding the tour approximately 10 hours after departure.
