The adventure begins at Reykjavik Airport, where we board a helicopter to head to the geothermal area of Hengill.

You'll observe how the colourful houses of Reykjavik diminish in size below, alongside iconic sites such as Hallgrimskirkja Church and the Harpa Concert Hall.

The geothermal area of Hengill spans 100 square kilometres (38.6 square miles) and is one of Iceland’s largest geothermal areas, connected to three volcanic systems.

The last volcanic eruption in Hengill occurred over 2000 years ago. From the helicopter, you'll view vents and thermal fountains throughout the landscape, indicating the volcano's ongoing activity.

After flying over the area, we'll land at a safe location, allowing you to explore old lava fields and small craters. You’ll observe boiling water emerging from the ground and the unique colors of gas seeping to the surface.

After visiting Hengill on foot, we will return to the helicopter and proceed back to the starting point, flying over mountains, valleys, and additional lava fields.

This tour concludes with our landing at Reykjavik Airport after one hour.
