Tour Highlights
At the indicated time, we'll meet at 10 Skógarhlíð Street in Reykjavík and drive to the Kerlingarföll Highlands. On the way to the highlands, we'll stop at Gullfoss, a waterfall located in the canyon of the Hvitá River. Once at the Base of the Highlands, we'll prepare for an excursion nestled in the cove of Ásgarður, right on the edge of Kerlingarfjöll.
We'll drive to Hveradalir and head to the hot springs and colorful rock formations in the area. Hveradalir, meaning “the valley of hot springs,” is one of the largest geothermal valleys in Iceland, featuring powerful natural hot springs observed from a safe distance.
The valley is surrounded by rhyolite mountains that are part of the Kerlingarfjöll mountain range. Here, we'll embark on a 2-kilometer (1.2 mi) hiking route with an altitude difference of 500 meters (1,640 ft). After this hike, you can have lunch in a local restaurant or enjoy food you bring with you.
We'll then head to the Kerlingarfjöll Highland Baths for a dip. After a full day of hiking and adventure, we will return to Reykjavík, stopping at Geysir on the way back, one of the most impressive geysers in the world. Finally, we'll conclude this 12-hour activity by returning to your hotel in Reykjavík.
