Raufarhólshellir Lava Tunnel Tour
Embark on a guided tour of the Raufarhólshellir lava tunnel, one of the longest lava tunnels in Iceland, located near Reykjavik.
Meet at the BSI Bus Terminal in Reykjavik and head towards the cave. Equipped with safety helmets and flashlights, explore the caves and underground galleries formed by volcanic activity over 5,000 years ago during the one-hour visit.
With a length of almost 4,500 feet, it is the fourth-longest lava tube in Iceland. Covering around 1,150 feet, witness a variety of colors created by volcanic minerals in the rock while learning about the geological processes that shaped the tunnel.
The tunnel features wooden staircases and walkways for safe exploration, including a cave known from the movie Noah. Conclude the tour with a return bus journey to Reykjavik after a total of 3 hours.
