The Snæfellsjökull National Park is renowned for its landscapes. Discover black sand beaches, villages, and the notable Kirkjufell mountain on this day trip from Reykjavik.
Activity Details
At the scheduled time, you will be picked up from your chosen meeting point in Reykjavik and begin the journey through Iceland's interior. The first stop will be Kirkjufell, famously known as the Arrowhead in Game of Thrones.
Your next destination will be the Snæfellsjökull glacier, situated on an active stratovolcano with its summit covered in perpetual snow visible from the bay of Reykjavik.
Next, visit the Berserkjahraun Lava Fields, as mentioned in Jules Verne's Journey to the Center of the Earth. The tour includes various landscapes like waterfalls, lakes, rivers, rocky coastlines, and quaint fishing villages.
The excursion continues to the famous black sand beach of Djúpalónssandur, where a historical shipwreck occurred in 1948.
Next, travel to the Arnarstapi coast and see the black church Buðarkirkja, known for its distinctive architecture against the surrounding scenery.
The route will lead to Ytri Tunga Beach, where you can observe a colony of seals during summer. A traditional meal will be served at the farm, or you may bring your own food.
The return journey will commence, arriving back approximately 11 to 12 hours after departure.

This activity is conducted daily with an English-speaking guide. On Fridays, there will be a bilingual guide in English and Spanish.
