The Snæfellsjökull National Park is known for its landscapes. Experience black sand beaches, villages, and the Kirkjufell mountain on this day trip from Reykjavik.
Activity Details
At the appointed time, pick-up will occur at your chosen meeting point in Reykjavik. The journey includes Kirkjufell, a frequently photographed mountain in Iceland.
Next, we will visit the Snæfellsjökull glacier on an active stratovolcano, known for its perpetual snow visible from the Icelandic capital's bay.
The excursion proceeds to the Berserkjahraun Lava Fields, referenced in Jules Verne's Journey to the Center of the Earth. Expect to see lunar landscapes, waterfalls, lakes, and rivers, along with rocky coastlines and fishing villages.
We'll also visit the black sand beach of Djúpalónssandur, known for a shipwreck in 1948.
Continuing to the Arnarstapi coast and the black church of Buðarkirkja?, we will appreciate its architecture amid the surrounding landscape.
Next is Ytri Tunga Beach, where a seal colony can be spotted (especially in summer). A traditional meal will be enjoyed at a farm, or you can bring your own food.
The return journey will conclude approximately 11 to 12 hours after the activity starts.
