Hiking on Mount Profitis Ilias

Explore one of the highest mountains on the island of Rhodes and see the Aegean Sea on this hiking trail on Mount Profitis Ilias.

Hike Details

We'll pick you up from your hotel at the designated time to begin a hiking route through Mount Profitis Ilias. Starting from a small agricultural town in Rhodes, we will climb through paths rich with pine, holm oak, and olive trees. As we hike, you'll learn to identify various species of animal and plant life.

Stops along the route will provide views of the Aegean Sea, Turkish coast, and nearby islands. A highlight includes reaching the Elafos and Elafina meadow, built by Italian settlers between 1929 and 1932. We will also visit the Villa de Vecci, the former residence of the Italian governor, and the Byzantine church of Profitis Elias.

The tour concludes after five hours, returning to the starting point.
