Discover one of Greece's hidden gems at your own convenience on this full-day excursion to Symi Island from Rhodes. Unearth its historical monasteries, wander through picturesque streets, and immerse yourself in its fascinating mythology.
Day Trip to Symi Island
Your journey begins with a pickup from your accommodation in Rhodes, after which you'll be transported to Mandraki Port. Here, you'll board a vessel that will whisk you away to Symi, an exquisite gem nestled within the Dodecanese group of islands!
Upon arriving in Symi, the entire day is yours to wander the stunning island at your own pace. Strolling along the remarkable rocky shoreline, you'll be captivated by the splendid neoclassical structures that line the waterfront.
Did you know that Symi is recognized as the birthplace of the Charities, also known as The Three Graces? Greek mythology is interwoven with the cultural fabric of Symi. The island itself derives its name from the nymph Syme.
Throughout your day in Symi, you'll have the opportunity to visit Ano Symi, where the historic Knights of St John Castle is located. We also suggest exploring the serene Monastery of St Michael the Archangel, situated in one of the island's most picturesque bays, as well as the Monastery of Sotiris Megalos in Panormitis.
After a fulfilling day of exploration, we will reconvene at the designated time at Symi port for your return boat trip to Rhodes. The excursion concludes with a drop-off back at your hotel around 5 PM.
