Alvão Natural Park Hiking Tour

We will depart from Pena Aventura Park to explore the Alvão Natural Park on foot. This park is one of the major protected areas in northern Portugal, known for its biodiversity and home to endemic birds and mammals, including the endangered Iberian wolf.

During the hike, we will follow the tracks of the Iberian wolf, looking for signs of its presence, such as footprints or droppings. The route will take us through fields of heather and broom, showcasing the natural landscape of the Alvão plain.

The tour includes walking through typical regional landscapes, including birch and wild pine forests, and observing birds of prey, ponds with amphibians, and insects. A short break will be included for an energy bar when needed.

After five hours of hiking in the Alvão Natural Park, we will return to the starting point, concluding the tour.
