Pinhao, Lombo Branco & Sinagoga Hike

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Ribeira Grande at the designated time and hit the road for Pinhao, a small village that will be the start of an amazing hiking route.

Walking at nearly 2,000 feet above sea level, we will explore the vegetation of the island of Santo Antão. We will cross streams and climb hills, with opportunities to admire the green valleys of the area. Throughout the route, we will make stops to share stories about the different towns of the island.

One of the towns we will visit is Lombo Branco. Here, we will see local farmers and the variety of plants they grow, as well as the animals in the area, including cows, goats, horses, and donkeys.

In the final stretch of our hiking route, we will reach Sinagoga, which was home to a Jewish community after being expelled from Portugal. Sinagoga features natural pools, where - weather permitting - you can swim in its clear waters.

Finally, we will return to your hotel via minibus. The excursion will last a total of 4 hours.
