Hiking Adventure in Pinhao, Lombo Branco & Sinagoga

Your adventure begins with a pickup from your accommodation in Ribeira Grande at the scheduled time. We will then set off towards Pinhao, a quaint village that marks the beginning of a remarkable hiking experience.

As we trek at an elevation of nearly 2,000 feet, you'll have the opportunity to discover the rich flora of the island of Santo Antão. Our path will lead us across streams and up hills, offering stunning views of the verdant valleys. Along the way, we will pause to share intriguing tales about the various towns on the island.

One notable stop will be Lombo Branco, where you can observe the local farmers and the diverse range of crops they cultivate, alongside the various animals that inhabit the region, including cows, goats, horses, and donkeys.

In the latter part of our hike, we will arrive at Sinagoga, which was once a residence for a Jewish community that settled in Santo Antão after their expulsion from Portugal. Sinagoga is famed for its natural pools, and, weather permitting, you will have the chance to take a rejuvenating dip in its crystal clear waters.

To conclude our journey, we will return to the minibus and head back to your hotel. The entire excursion spans approximately 4 hours.
