Pinhao, Lombo Branco & Sinagoga Hike

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Ribeira Grande at 9 am and head to Pinhao, a small village marking the start of the hiking route.

Hiking at nearly 2,000 feet above sea level, we'll explore the vegetation of Santo Antão. The route includes crossing streams and climbing hills, allowing for views of the green valleys. We will have stops to share stories about various towns on the island.

One of the towns we'll visit is Lombo Branco, where we can see local farmers, their diverse crops, and animals like cows, goats, horses, and donkeys.

The hike concludes at Sinagoga, which was home to a Jewish community expelled from Portugal. Sinagoga is known for its natural pools, where - weather permitting - you can enjoy a swim in the crystal clear waters.

We will then return to your hotel by minibus, with the excursion ending around 1 pm.
