On this e-bike tour through Ribeira Grande, we will explore this municipality on the island of São Miguel, pedaling through its historic center and surrounding landscapes featuring cliffs and hot springs.

Ribeira Grande e-Bike Tour

Meeting will be at the parking lot next to Areal Beach of Santa Barbara in Ribeira Grande, where we will collect our e-bikes and begin our ride through the historic center.

We will visit notable sites including the church of Espírito Santo, a representation of baroque architecture in the Azores, the Eight Arches Bridge, City Hall, and its Clock Tower.

Leaving the center, we will tour the surroundings of Ribeira Grande, traversing fields and volcanic terrain with views of springs, cliffs, and hydroelectric plants.

The next stop will be at Caldeiras da Ribeira Grande, where we will observe geothermal openings used for cooking and admire the thermal baths operational since the 19th century. We will also visit the viewpoints of Coroa da Mata and Santa Iria.

Finally, we will return along the coastline, enjoying scenic views of the beaches before arriving back at the starting point 4 hours later.
