Explore beautiful natural landscapes on this day trip to Santo Antão, the northernmost island of the Cape Verde archipelago.
Santo Antão Island Day Trip
At 9 am, we will pick you up at your hotel in Santo Antão for a private tour of the island. First, we will visit Cova de Paul, the largest crater in the archipelago with a diameter of 1 kilometer. A stop at a viewpoint offers panoramic views before proceeding to the Delgadinho mountain ridge.
After a brief stop in the village of Povoacão, we will head to the northern tip of the island to visit the viewpoint of Ponta do Sol, where you can meet local fishermen and learn about their traditions.
The next destination is Fontainhas, recognized as one of the most beautiful villages in the world by National Geographic. Here, you will have the chance to taste local cuisine before moving to the green valley of Paul.
To conclude, we will visit a distillery to learn about the preparation of grogue, the traditional rum of Santo Antão, and then visit the old Jewish village of Sinagoga. The tour will conclude at 4 pm with your return to your hotel.
Distillery Availability
The distillery is only open from 1st January to 31st May. Tours booked outside these dates will omit the distillery visit, resulting in a shorter tour duration.
