Details of the Day Trip

Your journey begins with a pickup at your accommodation in Riga at the appointed time, after which we will travel to Cesis, recognized as Latvia’s third oldest city.

Upon reaching our destination, we will embark on a guided walking excursion to uncover the city's rich medieval heritage. Strolling through the impeccably preserved old town of Cesis, which boasts over 800 years of history, we’ll visit significant landmarks such as Roze Square, the Princess's House, and St. John's Church.

Next, we will make our way to Cesis Castle, a historical fortress steeped in tales of the past. Once inside, we will ascend the towers by candlelight, providing a unique perspective and an opportunity to savor breathtaking views from above!

After our castle exploration, you will have an hour to relax and enjoy lunch at a nearby eatery. Following our meal, we will reconnect and venture into the natural beauty surrounding Cesis. A 6-kilometer hiking trail awaits, offering stunning vistas of the red sandstone cliffs that adorn the Gauja River valley.
