Riga Art Nouveau Tour
Did you know that Riga is the European city with the highest number of Art Nouveau buildings? If you want to explore them, we'll meet at 3:30 pm by the Laima Clock.
We'll spend two hours walking through the streets of Riga to see its impressive collection of Art Nouveau buildings, including the Opera House, the University, the German Embassy, and the Nativity Cathedral, built mostly between 1904 and 1914, during a prosperous period in the Russian Empire.
We'll uncover the secrets of these buildings while walking along the most popular street in the historic centre of Riga, Alberta Street, featuring 8 protected buildings. You'll observe their colourful façades and detailed decorations.
Additionally, we'll learn about one of the most prominent Art Nouveau architects, Mikhail Eisenstein. The tour will conclude at the entrance of the Art Nouveau Museum at 4 pm.
