If you want the most exclusive views of Rio de Janeiro, then join us on a hike up Sugarloaf Mountain.
Sugarloaf Mountain Hike
We'll meet at Praça General Tibúrcio square at the indicated time, in front of the statue of the angel. The hike lasts 1.5 hours along the Costão route to the summit. The first part follows the Claudio Coutinho trail for about thirty minutes, where we may see local plant species and possibly a monkey.
After the trail, the ascent involves scrambling through rocky terrain and climbing 50 feet with a rope up a steep cliff face. Expert instructors will assist you during the climb. Enjoy views of Guanabara Bay and Niterói as you ascend.
Before reaching the summit, we will stop at the Philosopher's Stone, a viewpoint for observing the southern part of Rio. Then, we continue to the summit of Sugarloaf Mountain.
The descent is easier, as we will take the free cable car to Morro da Urca. From there, it’s a 30-minute walk down to the foot of Sugarloaf Mountain.
After 4 hours, we'll conclude the tour at the departure point.
