If you want the most exclusive views of Rio de Janeiro, then join us on a brilliant hike up Sugarloaf Mountain Hike.
Sugarloaf Mountain Hike
We'll meet at Praça General Tibúrcio square in front of the statue of the angel at the indicated time. The hike will follow the 1.5-hour Costão route to the summit of Sugarloaf Mountain. The first part takes us along the Claudio Coutinho trail for around thirty minutes, where we may see native plant species and possibly a monkey.
The ascent includes a scramble through rocky terrain, followed by a 50-foot climb with a rope up a steep cliff face. Expert instructors will assist throughout the climb, where participants can enjoy views of Guanabara Bay and the region of Niterói.
Before reaching the summit, we'll stop at the Philosopher's Stone, a viewpoint for observing the landscapes of southern Rio, then continue to the summit.
The descent is easier as we will take the free cable car to Morro da Urca. From there, it's a 30-minute walk down a quiet path to the foot of Sugarloaf Mountain.
After 4 hours, we will conclude the tour at the departure point.
