On this tour to Cafayate from Termas de Rio Hondo, we'll explore the northern landscapes of Argentina and its surroundings.

Pickup is at 5 am from your hotel in Termas de Río Hondo, heading north to Cafayate and nearby areas.

We will exit Santiago del Estero and enterTucumán, traversing the landscapes of the Tucumán jungle to reach the Angostura dam. Continuing to the Abra del Infernillo pass, we will ascend to 3042 metres.

On the journey to Cafayate, we pass through Calchaquí valleys, stopping at the Pachamama Museum in Amaicha del Valle to view the works of sculptor Héctor Cruz.

Next, we’ll visit the archaeological site of Quilmes, a major pre-Columbian area in northern Argentina, and learn about this ancient settlement before entering Salta to reach Cafayate.

Upon arrival, we will have a guided tour of Cafayate, highlighting main monuments including the cathedral of Nuestra Señora del Rosario, one of only three churches in South America with five naves. We will also visit the Vasija Secreta winery to learn about Calchaquí wines.

After an hour for lunch in Cafayate, we will return to Termas de Río Hondo, arriving at your hotel by 8 pm.
