Few adjectives can accurately describe the beauty of Tucuman's landscapes in northern Argentina. We'll see for ourselves on this excursion to Tafí del Valle.
Tafí del Valle Tour
From your hotel in Termas de Río Hondo, we will pick you up at 8 am and head north along National Route 9 towards the landscapes of Tucumán.
On the way to Tafí del Valle, we will make several stops to learn about the area's history and nature. First, we'll stop in Simoca, known for its traditional sulky carriages. If you take the tour on Saturday, you can visit the regional fair.
After Simoca, we will take Route 307, crossing the yungas landscapes. We will pause to admire the Monumento al Indio, a six-meter-high (19 feet) sculpture.
Continuing through the hills of the Tafí Valley, we will reach an altitude of 2000 meters (6561 feet) and appreciate the views from La Angostura dam.
The dam is 20 minutes from Tafí del Valle, where you will have two hours for lunch and to explore the town. You can enjoy the El Pelao trail and the Jesuit Museum La Banda.
After lunch, we will return south with an intermediate stop in Famaillá to visit the church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen. We will finally return to your hotel in Termas de Río Hondo by 7 pm.
