It is challenging to find words that truly capture the stunning scenery of Tucuman in northern Argentina. Experience the visual splendor firsthand on our journey to Tafí del Valle.
Tour to Tafí del Valle
Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Termas de Río Hondo at 8 am. We will travel northward along National Route 9, surrounded by the striking vistas of Tucumán, situated in the northern region of Argentina.
En route to Tafí del Valle, we will pause at several points of interest to delve into the local history and natural beauty. Our first stop will be in Simoca, famous for its traditional sulky carriages. If your trip falls on a Saturday, an opportunity awaits to explore the vibrant regional fair.
Continuing along Route 307, known as the road of the yungas, we will traverse the lush landscapes of the Tucuman jungles. Here, we will take a moment to admire the impressive Monumento al Indio (Monument to the Indian), a remarkable sculpture standing six meters tall (19 feet).
From the monument, our journey continues through the hills of the Tafí valley, reaching the highest point of the tour at 2000 meters (6561 feet). We will take in breathtaking views from the renowned La Angostura dam.
Only 20 minutes from the dam lies Tafí del Valle, the principal village of our excursion. You will have two hours of leisure time for lunch and exploration in the village, where you can discover the El Pelao trail and the Jesuit Museum La Banda.
After enjoying your meal, we will head back south, stopping once more in Famaillá to visit the church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen. Our final destination will be your hotel in Termas de Río Hondo, with an estimated arrival time of 7 pm.
