Few adjectives can accurately describe the beauty of Tucuman's landscapes in northern Argentina. We'll see for ourselves on this excursion to Tafí del Valle.

Tafí del Valle Tour

The tour begins with a pickup from your hotel in Termas de Río Hondo at 8 am. We will travel north along National Route 9 toward the scenic landscapes of Tucumán.

On our journey to Tafí del Valle, we will make multiple stops to explore the area's history and nature. Our first stop will be in Simoca, famous for its traditional sulky carriages. If the tour is on Saturday, a visit to the regional fair will be included.

After Simoca, we will take Route 307, known as the road of the yungas, to traverse the lush landscapes of the Tucuman jungles. We will stop to admire the Monumento al Indio (Monument to the Indian), a six-metre high sculpture.

Continuing, we will ascend through the hills of Tafí, reaching an altitude of 2000 metres (6561 feet) to enjoy views from the La Angostura dam. The dam is located just 20 minutes from Tafí del Valle, where you will have two hours of free time for lunch and exploration, including the El Pelao trail and the Jesuit Museum La Banda.

After lunch, we will head south with a stop in Famaillá to visit the church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, before returning to your hotel in Termas de Río Hondo by 7 pm.
