Puerto Tranquilo Marble Caves Boat Trip
At a chosen time, we'll depart from the dock of Puerto Tranquilo to explore the western part of General Carrera Lake, located in the Aysén region.
The boat trip begins along the shore of Puerto Tranquilo by the marble caves, known for their unique greyish and bluish tones. This area is a protected site designated as a National Monument of Chile in 1994 due to its environmental significance.
We will navigate 500 meters (1640 feet) of caves, entering to view the marble ceilings. The journey continues to the marble tunnel, where we will pause to observe the whitish calcium carbonate cavity.
Continuing on Lake General Carrera, we will visit the islets of the cathedral and the marble chapel of Puerto Tranquilo. These are significant natural monuments of Aysén, best appreciated in person.
After an hour and a half of sailing, we will return to the departure pier.
