Birdwatching in Rio Lagartos
We'll meet at the indicated time at the Río Lagartos boardwalk, where we'll board a boat and navigate through the Ría Lagartos Biosphere Reserve. This protected area of great ornithological richness is one of the environmental treasures of the northern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. During the trip, we'll see the famous flamingos of Rio Lagartos and learn about their unique pink color. Other native birds, such as pelicans, herons, and large American eagles, will also be visible, alongside the possibility of spotting crocodiles swimming through the mangroves. The tour will conclude at the beach of Río Lagartos with its emerald-green waters after a 1.5-hour trip, returning to the departure pier.
Hours
The tour will take place between 7 am and 10 am, as this is when the birds of the Ría Lagartos Biosphere Reserve are most visible. We will inform you of the exact time of departure in advance.
