Birdwatching Experience in Rio Lagartos
Our journey begins promptly at the Río Lagartos boardwalk, where we will board a boat that will take us through the stunning Ría Lagartos Biosphere Reserve.
This vital ecological zone, renowned for its ornithological abundance, represents one of the great natural treasures along the northern shore of the Yucatan Peninsula. During our expedition, we will encounter the illustrious flamingos of Rio Lagartos. Have you ever wondered about the reason behind their distinctive pink hue? Join us to discover this fascinating fact!
While navigating the waters, we will also spot other avian species indigenous to the Yucatan, including pelicans, herons, and majestic American eagles. There’s also a chance to observe crocodiles as they glide through the mangrove forests!
As our trip concludes, we will visit the beach of Río Lagartos to admire the stunning emerald-green waters. After approximately 1.5 hours on the water, we will return to our starting point.
