Discover a beautiful and unique spot in the Andes on our Atillo Lagons Day Trip. We'll set off from Riobamba and walk through a misty, scenic area bursting with lush greenery.

Atillo Lagons Day Trip

Once we've picked you up from your hotel in Riobamba at 8 am, we'll set off for the Atillo Lagoons, located in Sangay National Park.

On our way, we'll pass through some rural Indigenous communities until we reach the viewpoint of the lakes, where we will view Cuyo, Colay and Atillo Lakes. We will then stroll to the Negra Lagoon, known for its dark waters and the associated Puruhae legend.

Next, we'll take a short walk to learn about local plant life, including lupinus, chocho de páramo, valeriana, and flor de páramo, as well as observe migratory cuvivis birds.

Our next stop will feature a traditional lunch consisting of grilled trout with salad, cooked corn, and cheese sauce.

After lunch, we will visit the Chalán ravine to view the footprints of 40,000-year-old Pleistocene mastodons.

Finally, we will return to Riobamba, dropping you off at your hotel at 5 pm. See you next time!
