Discover a beautiful and unique spot in the Andes on our Atillo Lagons Day Trip. We'll set off from Riobamba and walk through a misty, scenic area bursting with lush greenery.

Atillo Lagons Day Trip

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Riobamba at 8 am and set off for the Atillo Lagoons within Sangay National Park.

During the trip, we'll pass through some rural Indigenous communities before reaching the lakes' viewpoint. Here, we will observe Cuyo, Colay and Atillo Lakes. We'll then walk to the Negra Lagoon, an aquifer with black water steeped in a Puruhae legend.

A short walk will follow, where we will learn about local plant life, including lupinus, chocho de páramo, valeriana, and flor de páramo. We may also spot migratory cuvivis birds.

Next, we'll have a traditional lunch featuring grilled trout with salad, cooked corn, and cheese sauce.

Post-lunch, we will visit the Chalán ravine to see 40,000-year-old Pleistocene mastodon footprints.

Finally, we'll return to Riobamba, dropping you off at your hotel by 5 pm. See you next time!
